How can a 13 year old girl lose weight fast?

O.K. I am 13 year old girl and I need/want to lose weight. I probably am around 200 pounds, but I don’t look it. I look like 100. I want to loose weight fast. I can’t walk around town or run, because I live near busy places and streets. I always participate in gym, and every now and then i’ll go shoot baskets or throw around the baseball. I will drink Ice Tea at dinner, but usually I will just drink Propel. I do eat veggies because I love them. Is there anything I can do. I need help. Please anyone?!?!

The best way to lose weight is a balance of exercise and nutrition. Lets start with nutrition. You need to count calories. An average person eats about 2000 calories a day. you need to cut that by half. So eating about 1000 to 1500 calories a day is good. Try eating smaller portions. Also, you probably have a slow metabolism. Try eating 5 small meals a day. Include a lot of fruits and vegetables. Exercise is the hard but fun part. if you want to loose weight fast try exercising at least 5-6 days a week with 1 day of rest. Exercise must include cardio 5 days a week and weight/resistance exercise 2-3 days a week. Cardio can include running, biking, anything that will get your heart pumping. Try doing cardio atleast an hour a day except when you do resistance exercise where you can do 30 mins of weights and 30 mins of cardio. Weight lifting should include low weights ( for you) 5 pounds is perfect and lots of reps. maybe 3 sets of 15. You should google resistance exercise. You’ll be great if you can do this.

Why on earth do you think you need to lose weight? You’re strong and healthy and getting a balanced diet, right? If that’s the case, then you don’t have any reason to lose weight even if you *didn’t* look thinner than you are.

Losing weight fast can only make you less healthy, at this point. There’s no such thing as safe rapid weight loss. Rapid weight loss leads to gallstones, mood disorders, brittle hair, and a bunch of other things, including an increased chance of early *death*. And with you being only 13, rapid weight loss while you’re supposed to be having your final growth spurts and building your adult body would have a high probability of screwing up your metabolism for the rest of your life.

Yes, there’s a current fashionable trend for ridiculously skinny-looking women to turn up on magazines and talk about how much weight they lost. You do know those women are *airbrushed*, right? And that a number of them are taking illegal drugs, and very far from healthy?

There’s a sad obsession with calorie-counting these days, because companies have discovered that drumming up the fear of fat allows them to sell more products and make more money, and that’s all they really care about. They don’t care about your health, they want your cash.

I have no interest in your cash. Keep active, eat a balanced diet, and STAY HEALTHY.

I’ve lost 17 pounds in 12 days, I’m just concerned that I’m losing too much weight, too quickly. I will admit I haven’t followed the guide exactly. I’m not sticking perfectly to the listed foods and meal plans (but mostly) and doing very little exercise, but the weight keeps flying off.

It clearly works and if I’d followed it exactly I think it would scare the living daylights out of me because of the amount that I’d lose. So thanks again for the information. I’ve never purchased anything like this before because they are usually full of trash, but 3WD has been a pleasant surprise.

I completely understand, but if you look 100, its probably because you have a lot of muscle, so there is no need to lose weight. If you feel like you must, dont do anything drastic. I would say try to participate in more vigorous activity. Even just sprinting back and forth between spots will help. Alos, switch to more water if possible, you’ll lower your sugar intake, and stay away from as much junkfood as possible. If you have a choice between cookies and an apple, pick the apple.


While I do believe there are no quick ways to lose weight, there are some things you can do. Drinking a lot of water helps a lot. It’s awesome that you are eating veggies-good for you! However, eat fruit as well. And I would suggest finding some way to get regular exercise. You can run stairs or do pushups and situps. Yoga is also a good option-it’s something you can do at home.

OK so do you weigh 200 pounds? If so, count your calories. Maintain 1,400 a day and within a year you will be down to 140 at least.
Also, it’s crucial to have some protein in your diet..white fish and chicken. If you don’t like that..try beans, lentils, eggs, and tofu. 50% healthy produce (veggies and fruits) 25% protein and another 25% in healthy carbs (oatmeal, grains, etc.) and you will be perfecto. 🙂

Your Obese, and it is impossible for you to look look like you’re 100 (Unless you’re pure muscle)…

you may be used to fried foods but there are other sometimes healthier ways to cook including roasting steaming poaching baking braising and broiling
