How do Native Americans feel about the Mexican immigration issue?


When it comes to who should and shouldn’t be in the US I think the non-Native Americans who comment on the issue tend to forget how we came to be here. I really would like to hear Native American comments.

I’m Native American.

But I don’t believe that the ILLEGAL immigration issue is a racial issue. It isn’t about where ppl who are illegally entering this country are coming from, but the fact that they come here illegally, continue to break its laws while here & when given the chance to set things right (re: granted amnesty, chance to become a citizen) the majority don’t.

I would still be saying the same argument even if they were coming from Canada.

Also, this issue isn’t about who was here first… Again, it’s about the law being broken & being continued to be broken.

Native American by birth, 100% American by choice.
I can only speak for myself, none others. America has a legal immigration program in place and working right now. The proper method of immigration is in place and working, maybe not very fast or very good, but it is the federal government’s LEGALLY approved method of entry to the United States of America. If this legal method isnt fast enough for some, then they should find a way to change the federally mandated LEGAL process. The Criminal Trespassers have NO right to demand ANYTHING from America, nor do they have any right to believe that the American public is going to welcome them with open arms. If they continue on the ILLEGAL path, the only arms they will receive are going to be large caliber, & high velocity, held by Angry Americans. Illegal Immigrants are Criminal Trespassers that should be held to the letter of the law of this nation upon discovery. Hows that for a Native’s viewpoint? You do not want to know how I “FEEL”.

This isn’t about Columbus and cowboys and Indians, history is just that. Its about national sovereignty. No American, native or other origin is more equal than any other.

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. — That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, — That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness. It a hard question to answer. If you are a traditional Indian, what nation,what tribe. All Indians are not created equal. Just being Indian would be like just being republican or democrat. Your not just Indian. There is a belief in my tribe that these things should come to pass there will be a great war between the snake of the north and of the south. When they are battle weary the Indian will rise up and fight them and take their land back. Most don’t believe that today.

I’m not native American. But they have every right to say whatever they want.

I’ve seen this questions before but I can’t answer not being an Indian.

Is this when the battle cry to kill all the blacks and whites etc., is repeated?

Or is it about national identity and unity to protect ourselves from an oppressive government in the making and generations of abject poverty?

They don’t want Mexicans coming here, building casinos and taking jobs Indians won’t do.
