If you oppose gay marriage for religious reasons, are you also against atheists marrying?

Some Christians think that gay marriage shouldn’t be legal because they feel that marriage should be a religious ceremony, and their religion doesn’t approve of gays marrying each other. If that is your view, then how do you feel about an atheist man and an atheist woman getting married by the justice of the peace?
Would you support the legalization of gay marriage if it were the same thing as a J.P. officiating at an atheist wedding?

BTW, I’m Christian, straight, married, and have no problem with the government legalizing gay marriage.

I think the reason why most people find &quot:gay marriage&quot: odd is that it’s a pretty new phenomenon. Once it’s been established and half a century has passed, people will see it as normal. After all has been said and done, the purpose of marriage is for two lovers to be with each other, not to have kids. If the purpose was to have kids, marriage between couples who can’t have kids or don’t want to have kids should be annulled.

I laugh at the people who think marriage is a religious concept.

you see the response from fireball? she sure is ignorant . ppl were being married before her god was made up. before the bible was written.

I oppose people not paying their taxes. I oppose people mugging other people and I oppose premarital sex.. But what can I do about it?

I wish there were more Christians like you! Unfortunatly the majority are ignorant…

You should examine your beliefs and examine where you stand with God

no why do you care what we think? God made the rules…marriage is one man one woman
