Do you think that materialism and symbolism are slowly but surely creeping into the Christian religion?

If you look at today’s famous pastors you would agree that they are far more richer than those in the 50s.I am not saying that it’s wrong for the pastors to be rich but do you think it’s all they are preaching about these days.I guarantee you today if you tune in to Chtistian TV channels you would hear pastors preaching about wealth, money and prosperity. If you walk into any church you would think it’s a fashion show by the way they are dressed.Money is becoming more important in the Christian religion. As for symbolism you would swear that baptism is more important than God,the sign of the cross is more important than He who died on the cross,Holy Communion is more important than the one we are doing this in order to remember, how a person is dressed is more important than his faith.certain laws and church doctrines are more important than our faith in Jesus.Have we become exactly what Jesus was against?Hypocrites and worshippers of the law,who preach one thing but never do it themselves. To God alone be the glory.

I understand where you’re coming from, but if you read
2 Timothy 3: 1-7, it explains why things are this way now.

&quot:But know this, that in the last days critical times hard to deal with will be here. 2 For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, self-assuming, haughty, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, disloyal, 3 having no natural affection, not open to any agreement, slanderers, without self-control, fierce, without love of goodness, 4 betrayers, headstrong, puffed up [with pride], lovers of pleasures rather than lovers of God, 5 having a form of godly devotion but proving false to its power: and from these turn away. 6 For from these arise those men who slyly work their way into households and lead as their captives weak women loaded down with sins, led by various desires, 7 always learning and yet never able to come to an accurate knowledge of truth.&quot:

As is it states in paragraph 2, Men will become lovers of themselves, lovers of money… You see that everyday and even more so within the church. Think about it, why should you be obligated to pay a tied in church and put it in an envelope with your name on it so that they’ll know how much you personally gave the church. Why is it a set percentage of what you make? That’s utterly ridiculous. What you give to the church should be on a contribution basis only and no one should need to know how much &quot:You&quot: put it. You put in what you had… even if it’s 10cents. Should you go hungry or loose your home because you feel obligated to pay your tieds?
Paragraph 2 also talks about being disobedient to parents… Children today are Out of Control and they show a blatant disrespect to they’re parents and others and it’s becoming increasingly worse as time goes on.
Look at what paragraph 3 states… having no natural affection and without love of goodness. If that doesn’t speak mountains to you, then read it again. How else can you explain the senseless deaths taking place and the vicious way in which they are being done. Especially when a person can look at a baby and instead of seeing a precious, helpless child, they somehow see a reason to rape a baby or to kill one. People seem to hate what’s good nowadays… they totally dismiss what’s right and find reasons to do what’s wrong and then they fall on the excuse that &quot:we’re all sinful, so god expects us to make mistakes and be sinful instead of &quot:Trying to &quot:Practice&quot: righteousness.
And 5… Is the answer to your curiousity… &quot:having a form of godly devotion, but proving false to it’s powers… does that not explain the pastors, preachers and all of the above. They call themselves representing and being a spokes person to teach Gods word when infact the only god they’re speaking for is the god of this system of things… Satan the Devil.

Why does a preacher need a big luxury sedan but the members of the church are poor and struggling? Why is he the only one benefiting from monatary gains? The glory is supposed to God, not man. Money for the church to go to the church (all of it), it should not be for personal gain in anyway, but yet we see differently.

Slowly? Honey have you seen the Vatican? The people you are talking about are just &quot:catching up&quot: is all.

Maybe in the religion, but not the faith.

Slowly???

It has always been there. When you worship God, he will give you that you desire. Don’t worship him, and he will take everything you have and you will never get it back.

It seems they are all falling to the dark side….

Aye, aye, Sir!!!!
