I’m 14 (going into eighth grade) and my mom won’t let me wear makeup! The only thing I’m allowed to wear is concealer and translucent powder. Here is my ideal routine:
concealer, peachy blush, highlight, light shimmery eyeshadow on inner corner, a little bit of brown or gray eyeliner, brown mascara, tinted lip balm. I don’t think that is crazy! For some reason I’m really uncomfortable asking my mom about this, I wouldn’t know how to bring it up and it would be awkward. Any advice on either how to wear makeup without her noticing or how to get her to let me?
Tinted lip balm
Too much. In the first place, your school dress code is going to frown on it; it is a distraction to others. In the second place, you are going to have to get up extra early to apply it carefully and neatly, possibly leading you to miss the bus. Thirdly, you are going to clog pores, possibly leading to pizza face red-spotted acne which is expensive and tough to cure.
Girl NO, that is way too much make-up (that you want to wear) start of easy with mascara, tinted moisturiser, eyeliner and maybe a natural lipstick shade. If you dont have acne, like I do, wearing foundation or of products on the skin can really irritate it and cause an outbreak.
ANN- SEEING SOME OF YOUR ANSWERS TO OTHER COMMENTERS HERE, SHOWS YOU ARE WAY TOO IMMATURE TO WEAR ANY MAKEUP. GROW UP….YOU ARE ACTING LIKE A CHILD. YOU HAVE NO RESPECT FOR YOUR MOTHER. SHE SAID NO. WHAT PART OF “NO” , DONT YOU UNDERSTAND???? LEAVE IT AT THAT..YOU SPOILED BRAT.
You mentioned you already wear makeup, in one of your previous questions. So, you are either sneaking makeup, or you are a full-blown out, liar.
гЂЂ Sometimes it is wiser to show off your own perfections instead of covering them up with somebody else’s.
Go to the mall with a friend and buy some makeup then put it on in the bathroom then take it off. But thats a lot of work and probably not the right thing to do, so maybe find someone who is older and you’re close to, like a family member, and say you wanna experiment with makeup. Maybe do a cute makeover with minimal makeup then show your mom. Only use stuff like light eyeliner, mascara and clear lip gloss and possibly some foundation(you usually shouldnt do a full face of foundation at that age), thats about all I wore at that age and overdoing it doesnt look that good.
Just keep trying to talk about it and dont get upset. I was too scared to ask for liquid liner when I was younger so I’d use the end of the mascara stick to create a liner at the top of my lid (lol dont do this). Not wearing it isn’t the end of the world though. Ik a lot of us girls slowly got into makeup before finally being able to wear whatever as long as it looks nice.
damn girl…i’m only a junior, and I just wear mascara and lipstick… listen to your mom, don’t be a brat and give your mother a hard time.
That’s enough makeup for your age
