i have a 1979 mercedes benz 450sl and it needs parts. does anyone know a good website or place where i can get parts for this car??
Go to the MB dealers. Their prices are also very reasonable.
Probably $8,000 to $12,000, if it is really nice. Those are real world prices. This type of car is sorta kinda collectible but isn’t a “hot ticket”, so getting a high price is going to take a long, long time, and the value isn’t going to go up very much either. Why is that? Because the car is very heavy on gas and expensive to repair, and buyers know this. The smaller, lighter and (to some) prettier 280SL is in higher demand, and the later 560SL is a much improved version of your car, and consequently brings a higher price. This would be a good time to sell a 450SL–things aren’t going to get better.
Here is a link to a site that I has been given a good report for having Mercedes-Benz parts and fair prices. I hope it works out for you!
Depends on what you need,,,,,,your car is a 107 chassis and almost everything is still available from Mercedes. If you can’t find it online grab a credit card and head for the dealer.
I have bought many parts (for my 1983 380SL) from multiple sources but since these guys are in New Jersey, it seem the parts get here (Kansas) fastest:
And their prices are within a few cents of the cheapest
go to www.car-parts.com hope it helps!
