Christianity and Homosexuality?

Im a christian and straight, but i have friends that are not. and i dont care but the bible says
1.Lev. 18:22 , You shall not lie with a male as one lies with a female: it is an abomination.
2.Lev. 20:13, If there is a man who lies with a male as those who lie with a woman, both of them have committed a detestable act: they shall surely be put to death. Their bloodguiltness is upon them.
3.1 Cor. 6:9-10, Or do you not know that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals,1 10nor thieves, nor the covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers, shall inherit the kingdom of God.
4.Rom. 1:26-28, For this reason God gave them over to degrading passions: for their women exchanged the natural function for that which is unnatural, 27and in the same way also the men abandoned the natural function of the woman and burned in their desire toward one another, men with men committing indecent acts and receiving in their own persons the due penalty of their error. 28And just as they did not see fit to acknowledge God any longer, God gave them over to a depraved mind, to do those things which are not proper.
I do know that the bible was written by humans so it has to have flaws, however it comes up to much and i cant just pick and pick and choose what parts of the bible to belive in. however as time goes on humans become smarter which might be why people are more accepting of homosexuality.
but the bible says that im am on this world but not of this world.

There is NOTHING in the Bible that says homosexuality, in and of itself, as we understand it today, is wrong or sinful.

LEVITICUS: If you look at the entire chapters (18 & 20) that those two verses are placed you will find this — Leviticus 18:3 “You must not do as they do in Egypt, where you used to live, and you must not do as they do in the land of Canaan, where I am bringing you. Do not follow their practices.” and something similar in chapter 20. God is telling the Hebrews not to follow the WORSHIP practices of the Egyptians and Canaanites, which often included male prostitution and orgies. These chapters are condemning ritual sex as part of worship.

ROMANS — Romans 1:21-23 “21 For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened. 22 Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools 23 and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images made to look like mortal man and birds and animals and reptiles.” These are the verses that come just before where Paul says God gave up on them and they started to do “unnatural” things. Look at the people Paul is talking about. Paul says that these people KNEW God, but worshiped idols anyways. It is these people that God gave up on, not people who know and worship Him (even those who happen to be gay).

Corinthians (and Timothy) — These verses are a little more tricky as they require an understanding of Ancient Greek. Paul uses the word “Arsenokoitai”, which is not found in any extant Greek writings until the second century when it apparently means “pederast”, a corrupter of boys, and again in the sixth century when it is used for husbands practicing anal intercourse with their wives. “Arsenokoitai” is made up of two parts: “arsen” means “man”; “koitai” means “beds.” Although the word in English Bibles is interpreted as referring to homosexuals, we can be fairly certain that this is not the meaning that Paul wanted to convey. If he had, he would have used the word “paiderasste.” That was the standard Greek term at the time for sexual behavior between males. We can conclude that he probably meant something different than people who engaged in male-male adult sexual behavior. Some scholars think probably the second century use might come closest to Paul’s intention. If so, there is no justification for translating the word as “homosexuals.”

God loves us as we are, He created us as we are for His purpose, and His purpose alone. You may not understand it, but that doesn’t make it a sin. John 3:16-18 clearly states that ALL who believe will be saved and are not condemned…. this includes homosexual believers.

Your obviously not reading the whole context of the bible. A few lines under that Lev. line there’s passages saying wearing clothes of mixed fabrics is a sin and those who eat shellfish are an abomination. There are also tons more of redilcious things that are consider an abomination that warrant death when tons of people including christians do them in the current day. Of course you never hear anything about it because only the homosexuality lines are noticed as most christians use the bible as a justified way of discriminating against things they personally dislike

A lot of things that were written back then pertained to the times of then. We’re in a different era. People don’t change, surroundings do, however, some of the things in the Bible no longer apply to today. I’m not gay but do beleive people are born that way. There are too many people saying this for me not to have the thought in my mind.

People do pick and choose what they believe though, the bible has lots of flaws

Deuteronomy 21:18-21:

“If a man have a stubborn and rebellious son, which will not obey the voice of his father, or the voice of his mother, and that, when they have chastened him, will not hearken unto them:
Then shall his father and his mother lay hold on him, and bring him out unto the elders of his city, and unto the gate of his place;
And they shall say unto the elders of his city, This our son is stubborn and rebellious, he will not obey our voice; he is a glutton, and a drunkard.
And all the men of his city shall stone him with stones, that he die: so shalt thou put evil away from among you; and all Israel shall hear, and fear.”

Hardly anyone believes this because it is considered moral,y wrong and it should be exactly the same with homosexuality

The Bible, in the words of Adam Darski, it is the worst evil of men on another and is a source of hypocrisy. It’s a book of lies. Written by men who claim that god told them to do it.

Why should you believe me any less than the men who wrote the bible?

Speaking from one Christian to another.. For Isaiah says, “Lord, who has believed our message?”[h] 17 Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word about Christ. 18 But I ask: Did they not hear? Of course they did: Romans 10:16-18 .. Remember my brother.. God gives everyone a free will. Homeosexuality has always existed.. Remember Sodom and Gomorrah.. Also, I thought I share with you something i heard the other day on Christian radio. As a Christian we desire everyone experience the peace and love of God.. We desire that everyone be saved.. However you have to be waery of surrounding yourself with people who are not Christians.. For at times it is they that actually influence us.. We should minister to our friends and family.. but you must also guard your heart and mind..

Here is your flaw in your thinking. If the Bible has flaws then it is not the Word of God. For it then would be called something different because it could not qualify as God’s inerrant Word. Man did not write the Word of God they were “inspired by God to put down God’s Word” Inspired means to be ‘breathed into’ and thus as the writers that God used to put down the Word continually throughout history.

i think u cant be a Christian and be taking part in homosexual activities the bible clearly says they are a serious sin
its just a pity so many now try to justify both
I’m have no problem with gay people just they can’t b Christians any more than some one who worshiped idols can

All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; so that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work.

The Bible also condemns eating shellfish and wearing clothes of two different fibres. It also commands you to stone adulterers and knock down your house and slaughter a bull if you get mildew.

Everyone picks and chooses which bits they follow.
